Victoria Monét is honoured on TIME100 Next’s list: “The essence of an artist with a capital A. Her influence is indisputable”

VICTORIA Monét has been honoured on TIME100 Next’s list, which honours a group of rising stars making significant cultural and social impacts. 

The On My Mama singer and songwriter received high praise from Yara Shahidi, who described Monét as embodying “the essence of an Artist with a capital A.”

In her TIME profile, Shahidi highlighted Monét’s talent for honouring the legacy of those who came before her while crafting something uniquely her own. “Her influence is indisputable, not just within the music industry, but in the lives of all who experience her art,” Shahidi remarked.

“Whether through the chart-topping hits she’s written, her powerful voice on anthems like “On My Mama,” or her unmatched choreography, her talent is ­undeniable—and earned her three Grammys this year.
