Tina Knowles, a celebrated designer and businesswoman, is renowned as the matriarch behind some of music’s biggest stars. Recently, she was honored at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards for her significant contributions to fashion and women’s empowerment.

The event, held yesterday (October 8) in New York City, celebrated remarkable mums, including Tina, who have raised this generation's stars, notably her daughters, Beyoncé and Solange.

On the red carpet, Tina offered encouragement to mothers facing challenges, saying, “I feel like the teenage years can be the toughest, but it will get better. You truly get what you put in.”

She emphasised the importance of love and support, adding, “The more you invest in your kids, the more you’ll see in return.”

During her speech, the 70-year-old reflected on her journey as a mother, with Beyoncé proudly in attendance. “I’ve been blessed to have many careers, but being a mother is the best job I’ve ever had,” Tina shared. “I’ve had the privilege of raising four daughters—two that were born to me and two that were a gift from God. I was a bit of a rebellious teen myself, but the day I became a mother, I committed to doing my best.”

Her words brought tears to her eyes, and a camera shot captured Beyoncé beaming with pride and emotion as she listened.

In addition to her daughters, Tina has been a nurturing figure for Beyoncé’s Destiny's Child bandmates, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, both of whom have looked up to her. Kelly was also present at the event to support Tina.

Among the honourees were other celebrity mothers, including Donna Kelce, Billie Eilish’s mom Maggie Baird, and Selena Gomez’s mother Mandy Teefey, all celebrated for their contributions to their children’s success.
