The first trailer for "One of Them Days”, a movie produced by Issa Rae and starring Keke Palmer and SZA, has been released

THE first trailer for One of Them Days, a new comedy from Sony, has been released.

Produced by Issa Rae, the film marks the acting debut of Grammy-winning R&B artist SZA alongside Keke Palmer.

The story follows best friends and roommates Dreux (Keke Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) as they scramble to recover from the revelation that Alyssa’s boyfriend has squandered their rent money, leading them to hilariously extreme measures to avoid eviction and preserve their friendship.

The trailer showcases their frantic attempts to secure funds, including donating blood, climbing a telephone pole to retrieve expensive Jordans, and applying for a loan despite their comically low credit score.

Lawrence Lamont, making his feature directorial debut, helms the film from a script by Syreeta Singleton. The project is produced by Rae's Hoorae banner. Singleton and Lamont previously collaborated on Rae’s series Rap Sh!t, where Singleton served as showrunner and Lamont directed several episodes.

The cast includes notable names such as Lil Rel Howery, Janelle James, Keyla Monterroso Mejia, Maude Apatow, Katt Williams, Joshua Neal, Aziza Scott, and Patrick Cage. Variety reported earlier this year that Dewayne Perkins, Amin Joseph, Gabrielle Dennis, and DomiNque Perry also joined the lineup.

Originally developed at the CoCre lab at Sony Pictures, a program aimed at fostering diverse screenwriters, One of Them Days represents a significant step in supporting emerging talent.

Palmer and SZA first teamed up on Saturday Night Live in December 2022, where Palmer hosted and SZA performed as the musical guest.

One of Them Days is set to hit theatres on January 24.
